I am regularly asked about mobile operating sytems, and the two that come up the most are manifestly Android and iOS. Perhaps one of the more frequently asked questions I am asked is about which OS is better. That’s a troublesome question to resolve, and if I had to give a definitive answer it’d be really complicated. I may side with iOS for reasons involving simplicity of use and the huge App Store populated with fine quality, helpful applications. I may side with Android for its versatility, tight Google integration, cheaper price of entry and gigantic hardware options.
The reatlity is that both operating systems have a lot to give, and they obviously overlap in both form and function. In the end, it seems that iOS is great for creative types and professionals that need to work on a busy schedule. Android is great for coders, hackers and systematic/mathematical types.
Regarding business people, both platforms are great, but we'd have to side with iOS for security and simplicity of use. Those types need a safe environment, and iOS is the definite winner there.
Ironically, Apple’s mobile App Store is the characteristic of iOS that makes it a better platform for pros and creative types that need/want to work on their smartphones and tablets. Apple supports its developer community with tight laws and decent residual payments, and it shows in both the quality and the quantity of the programmes available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Apple removes barriers and diversions that allow the user to work easily, imaginatively and frequently with fun. Just ask any musician with an iPad.
Android’s open-source nature allows developers to support a healthy and handy library of homebrewed programs and customizations, and Apple barely allows any customizations for iOS devices. At most, you can change the wallpaper and ringtones, and that is about it. In Android, virtually all apps and UI elements are user replaceable. Individuals that like to tinker and hack devices, and coders that like to build custom programs will appreciate Android’s open eco-system. The Real Story of St. Patrick

Sure, everyone loves to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in March by pretending to be Irish, but how many people truly know the true story of St. Patrick and the fascinating history of Ireland? The true Saint Patrick was a fascinating character who lived a privileged and hardship-filled life. It’s amazing that Hollywood has not tried to make a blockbuster movie of his life and times.
Saint Patrick lived over 1,500 years ago and only two authentic missives that were authored by him have survived. Many details of St. Patrick’s life have been made up or manufactured by writers who lived hundreds of years after St. Patrick died on March 17th in the year 460. As you can probably imagine trying to put together the facts of Saint Patrick’s life and differentiating the rumors from the truth is very challenging.
Not much is known about his true parents, though it is generally believed that his father’s name was Calpornius and he was either a deacon or an officer in the Roman-British military. Most historians believe his birth name at birth was Maewyn Succat and he was most likely born in Roman territory, on the British Isles. That is right, Saint Patrick was not even Irish! His Romanized name was Patricius which is how he came to be called Saint Patrick.
Saint Patrick’s first visit to Ireland was actually against his will. When he was about the age of 16 pirates took him and many other people to Ireland where they were sold into slavery. After suffering as a slave for six years he claims he heard a voice tell him that he would be home soon and he took that as a sign to escape for freedom. He was able to escape and he traveled home to his parents as a young man. He eventually went to France and joined a monastery where he became a bishop.
Saint Patrick was nothing if not incredibly brave! It was around this time that be began having visions just as he did before which told him to return to Ireland. With the Pope’s permission he returned to Ireland to convert the Gaelic Irish to Christianity. By all accounts he was very good at preaching, he baptized hundreds of Irish people, he started many churches and although he made friends among the rich and powerful families of Ireland he did not accept gifts or bribes.
The shamrock is often associated with Ireland and Saint Patrick because it was once rumored that he may have used it as a way of teaching pagans about the Holy Trinity: God, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. That’s unable to be proved, but he almost certainly did not drive all the snakes out of Ireland as some stories state, simply because there was never any proof of ever being in Ireland. He is said to have died while working in Ireland on March 17th. Though there is no way to definitely prove his date of death or many of the other “facts” about his life it is still important to honor his faith and hard work and his love for Ireland and its people.

Now, imagine walking down the road, and you see a car that you’d love to buy soon. You reach out and visibly (not really) tap, or “click”, on the vehicle from your POV. All of a sudden, a price tag, some basic facts, and some links grow out from the vehicle. An inventory of Google search results populate the left side of your vision. And it all happens with the “click” of your finger, and your smartphone powered the entire experience from your pocket. Currently, we can easily connect our smartphones to our automobile stereos, home-theater systems, monitors, radios, computers and more. Clearly, HUDs are the following step as we aim to reduce our dependance on touch-input thru voice controls, HUDs, gestures and other mechanisms. Of course, the scenarios I described are basic and practical, and we haven’t even scratched the surface of what this can mean for the video game industry.

Samsung Announces Official US Galaxy Note Date Of Release And Price

We’ve waited for far too long, but our time has finally come. Samsung and AT&T reported the Galaxy Note’s official American release date and price, so on the 19th of Feb, you should buy your own Galaxy Note for $300 on contract. That is a big price, but the Galaxy Note is perhaps worth it.
The device is like an upgraded, bigger Universe S II on steroids, though the Super AMOLED Plus display on the Universe S II is seriously better than the Note’s Super AMOLED display. That's due to an issue with sub-pixels that is beyond the scope of this text and my education. Still, the display on the Galaxy Note features a beefy 1280×800 resolution. That is pretty intense for smartphone; it’s the type of resolution you’d see on the monitor of a small notebook. And the stylus that's included with the Note is a critical part for artists and entrepreneurs that wish to work, test or collect ideas free hand while on the go.
Sammy confirmed the handset at the start of Sep ’11, and the global population’s 1st mixed reaction placed doubts in our heads the device would succeed. But then we had to scribble about it, and the more we though about it, the more we were fond of the ideah of a 5-inch, Android slab in our pockets. Then again, we think it will not fit in every pocket, so it's not for everybody. There’s something extremely appealing of a little smartphone, though a device like the Galaxy Note can offer a very different experience.
At the end of last year, we also had concerns that it would come to America, but never doubt America’s love for everything big. At Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during January, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Note variant for AT&T, and it was well received, no doubt. The company even payed artists at one or two locations throughout the show to “paint” portraits of attendees on Galaxy Notes to demonstrate the capacities of the gizmo.
Finally, at the end of Jan, the company announced the Galaxy Note would hit AT&T’s 4G network on the 19th of Feb for $300 on contract. Samsung will also launch the device in Canada at about the same time.
